Vertigo Motors is entering a new phase with the arrival of Marc Colomer and Josep Serra "Xiu" at the helm of the company, which has been bought by a Chinese motorcycle brand.
The renowned trial motorcycle brand Vertigo Motors has announced a major change in its management structure, which is accompanied by a change of hands in its shareholders . From now on, the company will be led by two prominent figures: the internationally renowned engineer with a long career in trials Josep Serra "Xiu" and the former world trials champion Marc Colomer , who take the reins of the brand facing the market after it has been sold to a group of investors, with the majority of its shares in the hands of a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer.
Xiu is well known for being the engineer who designed the revolutionary engines of the GasGas TXT Pro that came onto the market in 2002, and which are still in production today in almost identical sizes, as well as the creator of the no less revolutionary OSSA TRi , which resurrected the cloverleaf firm between 2009 and 2014. He is also known for the Xiu trial bike components, designed to improve the performance of various models.
Marc Colomer's career is also long and well-known, as after being World Champion in 1996 and having achieved 5 Spanish championships , he has been linked to various brands for the development of their motorcycles. This was the case with the aforementioned GasGas TXT Pro and OSSA TRi, as well as the Scorpa SYF and the electric GasGas TXT-E with which he was proclaimed Trial-E world champion. More recently he has collaborated with the French brand Electric Motion, however he left this post some time ago.
Vertigo , known for its excellence in design and performance in the trial motorcycle sector, had been looking for a new owner for over a year , finally managing to sell it to a Chinese motorcycle brand as the main investor, which will thus have the ideal key to enter the European market with its products, while offering Vertigo in its new stage the chance to strengthen its position in the trial market and continue to be a benchmark in innovation within the industry. Before the agreement with the Chinese group, there were other interested parties in the purchase, such as Sherco or the Lampkin family.
Bet on the future: new lines of electrical products
Among the main new features announced, Vertigo's commitment to expanding its offering with the addition of a range of electric bikes stands out, which will be the motorcycles with which the Chinese brand will enter the market, having a presence in both the European and international markets . Therefore, from 2025, in addition to its traditional trial and off-road motorcycles (the Lynko 125 model), the brand will launch new models focused on the Trial and Freeride modalities, which have already been developed in China but will now be subject to review and improvement by Vertigo.
These new lines from China promise not only to maintain the high performance that characterizes Vertigo, but also to offer highly competitive prices , with the aim of positioning itself as a benchmark in the field of electric offroad.
Recognition of the legacy of Manel Jané
The brand has not forgotten to acknowledge the legacy of Mr. Manel Jané, founder of Vertigo , whose passion has been key to keeping the company's vision alive to this day. In this sense, the new management is committed to honoring his work and continuing to enhance the name of the company. For his part, Manel Jané is disassociating himself from the brand he created, finally managing to find continuity for his project. The negative part is that this change has meant the non-renewal of part of the staff that Vertigo had until now.
Vertigo looks forward to a promising future in its new phase
With this change in leadership and the important transformations that are coming, Vertigo Motors hopes that its new stage will mean the continuity of the exciting project created by Jané , also representing a leap into the future, for which it asks for unity and patience from its customers and followers , since the change of owners and management of the company will mean a period of adaptation.
